Dallas Green’s little other band, Canadian indie folk ensemble City & Color played a sideshow from the Groovin’ The Moo circuit at the Enmore Theatre. It looked completely sold out, and every song seemed to be sung along to. Almost a country/western feel to his music, but definitely not as much twang. But there was a slide guitar, so…

A definite catch for any fan of laid back country-tinged indie folk.

The Maccabees  played at the Metro Theatre just recently and I was there to cover it for LowToneMedia. A quiet type indie band, that had an almost full room enthralled with their sounds.

Bluejuice made their way to the Metro Theatre last Friday. Coming out in costumes that looked only like a black cape and yellow glasses, they turned on a fantastic show with their neon and blacklight setup, and had a few of their videos going as visuals (Have a look at a few here!). Jake decided it was best to climb the stacks, and hang off the lighting rails at one point as well. Smart!

From the opening song to the encore, the whole crowd (which happened to have a majority of 15-18 year olds as it was all ages) was involved, dancing and singing along. Bluejuice have a reputation for their live antics and they definitely kept that up this time around.

Went for another “art walk” today, this time around Sydenham to their “graffiti alley” around the left of the station, and then over to St Peters, to the well known Mays Lane.

Was pretty impressed with the quality of the graff over there. The usual crap tags thrown in, but some pieces were so intricate, and also painted on really strange building surfaces (lots of pebbled surfaces!). There should be more legal walls for graff – it’s such a limitless medium! Lots of garage doors and driveways had “DO NOT PAINT HERE” on them, and really they stood out from the colourful artwork surroundings.

Will probably head back to Alexandria next, and do a re-run of the Dunlop factory, to re-shoot some things and to take a second look for things we missed…
